Low Carbon Commitment – GHG Declaration
At Aerosud, we are committed to a sustainable future through decisive climate action. One year after launching our integrated Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Reduction Strategy, we continue to drive progress and innovation in reducing our environmental impact. Our updated 2025 GHG Declaration and enhanced strategy reflect this ongoing commitment. Fully aligned with the Paris Agreement on climate change and the aviation sector’s global sustainability goals, Aerosud’s GHG strategy focuses on significantly lowering our carbon footprint, boosting energy efficiency, and fostering a cleaner environment for future generations. Since 2023, Aerosud has participated in global benchmarking platforms including EcoVadis and the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), ensuring transparency and accountability in our climate-related efforts. We also conduct external verification of all GHG Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, reinforcing the integrity of our reporting. In 2024, we published our first Medium-Term GHG Reduction Strategy, built on a rolling three-year tactical plan. This strategy is reviewed annually to remain agile and responsive to new technologies, data, and challenges. Our key initiatives include: 1. Increasing LPG Usage (Scope 1) We aim to increase our LPG usage from 4,000 kg to 8,000 kg per month, replacing grid electricity usage in specific thermal processes. LPG is 4.5 times more efficient than electricity in CO₂ emissions per unit energy delivered, leading to an estimated reduction of 50 tons of CO₂e per year in Scope 1 emissions. This transition to cleaner fuel supports our operational efficiency and direct emissions reduction. 2. Reducing and Eliminating Diesel Use in Emergency Power Generation (Scope 1) We are working towards reducing and ultimately eliminating diesel consumption in our emergency power generation systems. This initiative will contribute to a reduction of up to 8 tons of CO₂e per year in our Scope 1 emissions by transitioning to cleaner and more sustainable backup power solutions. 3. Increasing Solar PV Installation (Scope 2) We plan to expand our solar PV installation capacity from 500 kW to 1,000 kW. This increase in on-site renewable energy generation is projected to reduce our Scope 2 emissions by approximately 48 tons of CO₂e per year, by reducing our reliance on grid electricity generated predominantly from coal. 4. Reducing Dependency on Coal-Based Electricity (Scope 2) Through these initiatives, particularly solar PV expansion and LPG substitution, we will reduce our dependency on coal-based grid electricity, thereby further reducing our Scope 2 emissions and supporting national decarbonisation efforts. These initiatives form part of our broader commitment to reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 45–60% by 2050 from a 2020 baseline. We remain steadfast in pursuing operational efficiencies and investing in clean energy solutions to achieve this target and to support national and global climate goals. This is positioning Aerosud as a responsible and forward-thinking player in the global aerospace supply chain.
Environmental Commitment
Aerosud and its leadership are dedicated to environmental responsibility. Our Environmental Management System (EMS) is aligned with ISO 14001, ensuring compliance, continuous improvement, and sustainable practices across all operations.
