The Airbus A400M is a military transport aircraft currently in development by a consortium of European nations. Orders for around 200 aircraft have been confirmed.

Aerosud became a development partner in the A400M program after South Africa announced the purchase of eight A400M aircraft in April 2005.

Aerosud is responsible for the design and development of a number of work packages in the cockpit area, the cargo area and also structural parts on the wing.

Prototype deliveries started in early 2007, and a gradual production rate increase is set to start during 2011.
